Your oral hygiene routine should include brushing twice a day and flossing once a day. If you want to go above and beyond, you can also brush your teeth after lunch while you’re at work. Our dentists, Dr. Turnbow and Dr. Jensen, recommend doing so because brushing at work can help you prevent dental issues (like cavities), help you maintain a strong and clean smile and can even help you prevent embarrassing incidents when food is stuck between your teeth. So, do your best to brush your teeth after lunch each day. To help you do so, our dentist encourages you to do the following things:

-Keep an extra toothbrush and toothpaste in your office drawer. Make sure to use a toothbrush cover, of course. Having the extra oral hygiene tools in your desk can make it possible to brush your teeth each day. If you don’t have a desk, you can keep your toothbrush and toothpaste in your purse, briefcase or backpack!

-Remind yourself to brush those teeth. The workday can get busy, so remind yourself to brush after lunch by writing on a sticky note, setting an alarm on your phone or even asking a co-worker to remind you. It doesn’t matter how you remind yourself. As long as you brush, you’re set!
